BUSINESS HISTORY
Originally, in or around 1994, I wanted to be a business owner, creating art-type products, whether they be fixtures, displays, furniture, textile designs, china patterns, or other tabletop products/designs. Paintings and graphic designs have not been ruled out. After I had graduated from the Art Institute of Philadelphia with my Associate degree in Interior Design, acouple of months went by, and one day I was playing around with a cardboard box, some fabirc and some craft paint. I made a picture frame, in which the picture/photo/art could be tucked into the frame. How, you ask? The fabric was wrapped around the cardboard frame border, from behind, around the front of the cardboard structure and into the area between the fabric and the cardboard frame border. Then I painted a design onto the fabric, on the front of the frame. Ok. It looked cute for a first-time craft project. After that, I put this frame aside, for a few years.
Fast forward to the year 2000. I started a new job at the end of 1999, then got laid-off 6 weeks later, in January, 2000. Ok, now what? I was an artist, afterall. So, unemployed, disgusted with looking and calling around to dead-end potential employment, I sat around the living room one day, looking at the walls, and the light bulb turned on! I was looking at the walls, and saw, NO LIE, at least 100 photos hanging on the wall and displayed in frames. We have alot of family. Dad is one of 14 and Mom is one of five, and I can't even begin to explain how many cousins and and second cousins I have.
Looking at these frames, I thought, "I could do these better, plus I have all of this fabric, in containers that I have collected throughout the years, lying around the house." So, I started playing around with a design for the structure. By this time, it is the end of February, 2000. A few weeks go by, and I enrolled in a program that the Department of Labor handled, the Self Employment Assistance Program. Through that, I gained 6 continuing education credits, learning some accounting and marketing, wrote a mock business plan, and acquired some new knowledge of MS Office.
I received my DBA and home-occupation permit in July, 2000. I had worked 2 craft shows, and a home show (not a home party/ demonstration) by the winter of 2000. I did a home dmonstration/party in March, 2001, making over $200 that night alone. I even sold 3 frames to man that I had never had any personal contact with. The reason behind this is because Dad had a few frames in his car last winter, during the holidays. Dad went to a gas station one day, and the gas station attendant saw the frames, and bought a few from him. A few weeks later, I made a frame for the man to give to his parents for their anniversary, during Valentine's Week. I applied his parents' initials in the middle of the frame, between the space that separated the 2 picture window areas. My Dad is a great salesman. He is a real estate broker.
By Spring, 2001, I had decided to change my business entity from a sole-proprietorship to a C-corporation. I incorporated Fabricated Views Inc. On June 6, 2001. I felt that by incorporating, I would greatly increase my company's chance of success, financing and stability.
PRICING
Fundraising customers:
The fundraiser collects the total, I believe that the fundraiser must collect the sales tax, with sales tax of the state that the fundraiser is in.
From the SUBTOTAL of the merchandise, the fundraiser keeps 1/2 (half) of the subtotal, sending the other half to Fabricated Frames and Kristie Hubler, making the check or money order payalbe to Kristie Hubler.
You will then add shipping, which is not taxed, and send that to Kristie Hubler and Fabricated Frames, adding that amount the the amount, payable to Kristie Hubler.

SHIPPING
Shipping is paid by the buyer/retailer/fundraiser customers. Fabricated Frames will pack the frames in bubble wrap, each individual frame will be put in clear poly bags, to keep dust off, and fabric satin bags are available, $1 (one dollar) each, upon request. For all orders that have more than 1 (one) frame ordered, a packing slip will be included in the shipment box.
With using UPS:
I go by weight with my frames and other products.
One of my "standard" sized frames, for a 4x6" photo weighs 1.5 ounces, sent in a box that weighs 5 ounces, measuring 6"x7"x7", will cost minimum for UPS, since they go by 1 lb. minimums, is

If it is sent by USPS, that same item will be $2.59, unless of course, the customer wants Priority Mail- that will be $4.30 for that item.

NOTE* Shipping and delivery can take as little as 2-3 weeks, however I would allow 4-6 weeks for delivery, from purchase date, for individual orders of less than 300 frames. If ordering 300 or more frames, please allow 8-10 weeks for delivery. I will call, email, and/or fax you the day the shipment is sent out. I have done 200 frames within one week.
Delivery via USPS or UPS, unless requested by the buyer/retailer, or size requirements prohibit using USPS. All shipments are insured.
RETURNS/EXCHANGES:
NO RETURNS.
MERCHANDISE CREDIT ONLY
Exception:
If merchandise received upon delivery, damaged from shipping (which it shouldn't be, since the frames are heavily bubble wrapped), but none the less, the shipment must be returned to Fabricated Frames within 10 (ten) days of the shipment's date, from Fabricated Frames to the buyer/retailer. Then, full refund will be disbursed. Allow 2 (two) weeks, from the day buyer/retailer returns/ships back the merchandise, to receive the refund.
PAYMENT
You can send the whole amount, due to Kristie Hubler/Fabricated Frames, payable to Kristie Hubler, as described above, in the pricing section.
OR:
You must send at least a 50% (fifty percent) deposit, in the amount due to Kristie Hubler/Fabricated Frames, at the time of placing the order. The remaing 50% (fifty percent), due to Kristie Hubler/Fabricated Frames, and payable to Kristie Hubler, is due within 10 (ten) days of the day the shipment is sent from Fabricated Frames/Kristie Hubler. I will email and/or call you the day that I send it out.

You always keep the original, sent with your sales certificate from the state, then copy this and send the COPY to the manufacturer/vendor. Never send the original!

Any frame that's picture window measures more than 7.5" x 9.5" will be quoted at $0.33 per square inch
Fabric will be no more than $14 per yard, unless otherwise requested by buyer/retailer. Copy of receipt can be given to buyer/retailer upon request, for fabric*, if the fabric to be used is over $14 per yard.
